A different day …
What can happen in the professional life of a wedding photographer and portrait photographer so that I’m excited about doing something different?
Sometimes he gets emotional about small things, little gestures, words, smiles and tears … But today’s article talks about emotions derived from a “big gesture”, the marriage proposal.
A few weeks ago Andrew contacted me and exposed his romantic idea. He wanted to make the wedding proposal to Ally during a Pic Nic organized in the Venice Garden of the JW-Marriott in Venice.
The idea I liked immediately and I was thrilled! A sophisticated and romantic picnic at the same time. Have you ever imagined something of this kind in your life? I think so, the picnic is the dream of all the kids who, growing up, transform it into a romantic dream with the loved one …
The first photographs taken are just those of the topical moment, Andrew kneeling in front of Ally, hands her ring and asks: will you marry me? Not to mention that the couple’s emotion was at the stars and it was inevitable not to be overwhelmed when she said “yes”!! I could perceive their vibrations at distance.
To take these pictures I hid myself in a bush and used a 135 mm telephoto lens. I did not want Ally to see me and discover the trick, she would not live the surprise and I would have deprived her of these fantastic emotions …
Some shots during the romantic lunch with the attentive and discreet style of the wedding photoreporter and then leave them alone to enjoy their time.
In the late afternoon we met at Florian in St. Mark’s Square for a couple session. It’s unbelievable, I often come across portraying sessions, but with Ally and Andrew I’ve lived a few really exciting hours. We stumbled on the lanes of Venice and at every corner we find new glimpses and emotions.
Even from the meteorological point of view, the day was fantastic and gave me the chance to experience … I wanted to “portray” the portrait session with the eye of the wedding phoreporter, I left aside the typical plastic poses of the shot editorial or fashion, and I imagined wanting to tell the day of a couple in love with Venice, what I came out of it, you can be seen here …
